Can I request a quote online?
Of course, you can do this directly on our website by entering your details here. Once your information has been submitted, our staff will send you a quote as quickly as possible.
Can I complete check-in online before my arrival?
Yes, this is possible. You can do it either as soon as you receive your booking confirmation or through the pre-arrival email that you will receive one week before your arrival.
Why is it better to book through our website rather than through other online portals (e.g., Booking.com)?
We recommend booking directly with us, as our website offers the best and most cost-effective rates. Additionally, you will find special offers that are only available when you book directly.
Do I need a credit card to make a booking?
This is not strictly necessary. To officially confirm your booking, we ask for a deposit of about 20% of the total amount. This can be paid either via bank transfer or by providing your credit card information.
What are the prices and availability for the rooms?
Prices vary depending on the season and the category of the room you choose. For more information, please visit the "Prices" section on our website.
What types of rooms do you offer, and what are the differences between them?
Our hotel offers 21 cozy rooms, including 19 Atelier Suites and 2 Family Suites with a separate children's room featuring bunk beds.
Additionally, in the annex (a converted part of our Guesthouse), there is the “Lagrein” Suite and the “Vernatsch” double room.
The main building of the Guesthouse, on the other hand, is a historic structure, so each room is unique and has its own charm. In short, we offer 9 double rooms with a lake view, 2 double rooms with a mountain view, and 1 double room without a balcony but with a lake view.
What are the payment and cancellation policies?
Hasslhof Cancellation Policy:
There is no statutory right of withdrawal under the Consumer Protection Code; however, we offer the following cancellation conditions: Cancellations are only valid in writing. No cancellation fees apply up to 1 month before arrival. Up to 21 days before arrival, the deposit will be retained. From 21 days before arrival, or in cases of early departure or late arrival, 100% of the booked arrangement will be charged. For cancellations, we reserve the right to charge an administrative fee of €50 for the associated paperwork.
We recommend that everyone take out travel cancellation insurance.
Do I need travel cancellation insurance?
We always recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance. This way, you are protected against any eventuality.
Where can I take out travel cancellation insurance?
Once you receive your booking confirmation, you will find the option to take out travel cancellation insurance with Europäische Reiseversicherung. Alternatively, you can also contact your private insurance provider.
How can I find out if my booking is confirmed?
Our hotel always sends an email confirming the room reservation.
Can I still modify a booking?
To modify a booking, we recommend contacting the hotel directly. Our staff will be happy to assist you, whenever possible.
How and where can I reach someone for questions or requests?
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (up to €4,999.99), debit cards, or credit cards (VISA, Mastercard). We do not accept American Express.
Do you have non‑smoking rooms?
Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire hotel, including in the rooms. This also applies to the new models of e-cigarettes. Smoking is only allowed outdoors. We kindly ask you not to smoke in the courtyard/terrace during meal times.
Are there discounts for children?
Yes, discounts are offered from the third person onward, depending on age. For more information, please visit the "Prices & Booking Conditions" section on our website. Please note that discounts are only granted when children share a room with two full-paying adults.
Are pets allowed?
Your pets are welcome to stay with us.
As a small contribution for the additional cleaning, we charge € 20 per day at the hotel and € 10 per day at the guesthouse.
Please bring a pet bed or blanket, as well as any other necessities from home.
For hygiene reasons, pets are not allowed in the dining room, sauna, or relaxation area.
Please also note that pets must wear a muzzle on public transportation.
Are dogs allowed?
Your dog is welcome to stay with us.

Can I book a specific room or floor when making a reservation?
It is not possible to book a specific room number or floor.
However, we are happy to receive your requests and will always do our best to accommodate them whenever possible.
Where is the hotel located in relation to the main attractions of the city?
Our hotel is located about 300 meters from the famous Lake Caldaro. The village is approximately 5 km away, Bolzano (the capital) is 20 km away, and Merano is about 35 km away. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the bus stop, and all destinations are easily accessible without a car.
Are there discounts for groups or extended stays?
From the 7th night onward, you will receive a small discount on the room rate per person, per night. For group bookings, please contact us directly.
What are recommended tourist attractions or restaurants nearby?
Caldaro-Kaltern offers numerous attractions for hikers, cyclists, wellness enthusiasts, and history lovers. We recommend visiting our Tips page or the official Caldaro-Kaltern website to discover the many attractions in this South Tyrolean region.
Various restaurants can be found within walking distance or directly in Kaltern. More information is available at the hotel.
Is there luggage storage available?
Yes, our guests can leave their luggage at the reception.
Can I get a room with a view?
All our hotel rooms offer a side view of Lake Caldaro, except for two rooms that overlook our courtyard/garden. In the guesthouse, we also offer rooms with a direct view of Lake Caldaro or with a mountain view.
Do you offer room service?
We are happy to offer room service for an additional charge starting from €10.

We are happy to assist you in booking restaurants or other services directly at the hotel.
What are the options for housekeeping services in the rooms?
We take great pride in the cleanliness of our hotel. Our rooms are cleaned daily, and the bed linens are changed in an environmentally friendly manner. Towels are changed upon request, simply place them on the floor. Each room is disinfected upon arrival with a special cleaning solution to remove bacteria. If you do not wish to be disturbed or want your room not to be cleaned, simply place the door sign outside or speak directly with our housekeeping staff.
Do you have conference or meeting rooms?
We do not offer conference or meeting rooms.
Can I request adjacent or connecting rooms?
We do not have connecting rooms.

Is there a currency exchange service?
We do not offer a currency exchange service.

Are you a family-friendly hotel?
We are a family-friendly hotel, offering family suites with a separate children's room featuring bunk beds. The “Lagrein” suite and the studio suites are also suitable for families. We provide cots, high chairs, a children’s pool (3 x 3 m, 30 cm deep), and a small playroom. More information is available here.
Is a deposit always required — and how much is it?
To confirm the booking, we always require a 20% deposit, which can be paid by credit card or bank transfer.
What happens if the deposit is not paid?
Forgetting can happen to anyone, so don’t worry. If we notice that the transfer or credit card information has not yet been sent, we will kindly contact you by email or phone.
Can I modify my booking — and until when?
Changing a booking depends on several factors, such as the period, days, and type of change requested (e.g., changing the date or extending the stay). In these cases, we always recommend sending us an email or contacting our staff directly, who will be happy to assist you.
CHECK IN – CHECK OUT
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Our rooms are available from 3:00 PM at the earliest. If you plan to arrive after 8:00 PM, please inform us in advance or give us a quick call. On the day of departure, rooms can be used until 11:00 AM. We kindly ask you to vacate them on time so we can prepare them for the next guests. You are welcome to use our pool and sunbathing area on the day of departure, and luggage can be stored at the reception.
What time is check-in?
Our rooms are available from 3:00 PM at the earliest.
Is it possible to arrive in time for breakfast?
You are welcome to arrive in time for breakfast and join at an additional charge. You can store your luggage at the reception and start enjoying your day, or use our pool area until your room is ready.
What time do I need to check out on the day of departure?
On the day of departure, rooms can be used until 11:00 AM. We kindly ask you to vacate them on time so we can prepare them for the next guests. You are welcome to use our pool and sunbathing area on the day of departure, and luggage can be stored at the reception.
Am I allowed to use the pool and spa area on the day of arrival or departure?
You are welcome to use our pool and spa area on both the day of arrival and the day of departure.
Do you offer luggage storage after check-out?
You are welcome to store your luggage at the reception.
What happens in case of late arrival or early departure?
In both cases, we always recommend contacting the reception directly. In case of delay, e.g., due to traffic, please kindly inform us so we can organize dinner accordingly. In case of early departure, unfortunately, the stay cannot be refunded. For this reason, we always recommend taking out travel insurance.
How does online check-in work exactly — how early in advance? What documents are required?
We want your stay to start in the best way possible. With pre-check-in, your holiday can begin stress-free. Pre-check-in is available at the time of booking or in the welcome email you receive one week before arrival. Simply click the link and enter the required information for all guests. We recommend having your ID card or passport ready. Please note that the passport or ID must be briefly shown on site.

Do you have a parking lot or underground garage?
For our hotel guests, a parking space in the garage is provided (included in the price).
For our Guesthouse guests, a parking space is available in our outdoor lot.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is available in all public areas, such as the bar, reception/lobby, courtyard/terrace, and pool area, as well as in the hotel rooms, the “Lagrein” Suite, and the “Vernatsch” double room. Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms of the main Guesthouse building.
Is the Wi-Fi free of charge?
The Wi-Fi is available free of charge.
What dining options does the hotel offer?
We offer half board (breakfast and dinner, except on Tuesday evenings) as well as overnight stays with breakfast only.
Where is the nearest bus stop?
The nearest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away, located at St. Josef Church by the lake.
How often does the bus run?
The bus runs every half hour to Caldaro-Kaltern (toward Bolzano) or to Termeno (toward Egna).
Can I add extra services to my booking?
You are welcome to add the following extra services for an additional charge; please inform us at least 48 hours in advance:
- Birthday cake
- Flower bouquets
- Picnic basket
- Bottle of sparkling wine, Prosecco, or wine
Is the hotel accessible for guests with disabilities?
All areas of the hotel are wheelchair accessible.
Are high chairs and cots available for babies?
High chairs are available free of charge in the restaurant. We also provide cots for € 10 per day.
If you prefer to bring your own travel cot, that is of course also possible.
Is there a charging station for electric cars?
There are two charging stations for electric cars available in our garage.
I have food allergies—does the kitchen take this into account?
Please inform us of any allergies when making your inquiry or booking. This allows our kitchen to prepare in advance and adapt our dishes to your specific allergies.
Can bikes – bicycles – e-bikes be rented from you?
We have 8 Scott mountain bikes and 2 e-mountain bikes, all available for rent at an additional charge.
Additionally, we cooperate with nearby e-bike rental services. You can conveniently rent your e-bike from home and have it delivered to our property. This allows you to start your bike tour directly from our hotel. Rental options and further information can be found here.
Do you offer a train station transfer service?
We are happy to offer pick-up service from Bolzano or Ora train stations for an additional charge.
Do you offer a laundry service?
You are welcome to leave your dirty laundry at the reception. It will be washed for an additional charge. Please note that washing takes a minimum of 48 hours.
Is an airport/train station transfer possible — and how does it work (cost, advance booking)?
We are happy to organize a transfer to and from the airport or train station. For more information about costs, please contact us by email or visit the website directly.
What about public transport — are there timetables, discounts, guest tickets?
Public transport in South Tyrol is efficient and runs on renewable energy or low environmental impact. Our hotel provides all guests with the South Tyrol Guest Pass, allowing free use of public transport throughout the region, from Brenner to Trento. Is E-bike rental & bike service available 24/7, and how is the reservation done?
E-bikes can be rented and conveniently booked online via our partner. Bikes can be delivered directly to our hotel so you can start your tour immediately. They are collected in the evening. Assistance service is included.
To what extent is accessibility / disabled-friendly rooms guaranteed?
Our hotel provides access for people with reduced mobility and guests with disabilities or in wheelchairs. However, direct wheelchair access to the shower is not possible due to limited space and a small step. A special shower chair is available.
Is there a safe in the room?
Yes, a safe is available in all rooms.
Towels / bed linen: Are towels changed daily or on request? Are there bath towels for the wellness area?
Towels are only changed if left on the floor. If hung or on the radiator, they are not replaced. Bed linen is changed if soiled or on request.
Minibar, fridge in the room?
A minibar is available in all hotel rooms. In some guesthouse rooms, there is no minibar, but items can be cooled at reception.
Concierge or reservation service for restaurants, excursions, or events — how does it work, how far in advance?
You can always rely on reception for any requests.
What is included in the price — and what costs extra (e.g., pool, sauna, towel change, room service)?
Except for bar, minibar, and drinks during meals, everything else is included in the stay.

Wi-Fi is available in all public areas, the pool, bar, reception, and in certain hotel rooms. In the main guesthouse rooms, Wi-Fi is not available.

What to do in emergencies / illness: nearest pharmacy, hospital, emergency numbers?
Caldaro/Kaltern has two pharmacies and several doctors, some available for home visits. The nearest hospital is in Bolzano, about 20 km away. In emergencies, an ambulance can be called immediately.

Are there charging stations for electric cars, and how many?
We provide two charging stations for electric cars.
How far is the nearest bus stop?
The nearest bus stop is about 10 minutes on foot, approximately 500 m. Guests receive the South Tyrol Guest Card for free public transport.
What is meant by a natural air conditioning?
Our rooms have natural air conditioning: a ceiling cooling system without a fan, which does not circulate warm air and is environmentally friendly
DINING ROOM
What are the meal times?
Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
For lunch, our kitchen is at your disposal from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM with hot dishes (not included in the price). Dinner is served starting at 6:30 PM, and you may arrive until 8:00 PM.
What options are available for vegetarian or vegan meals in the hotel restaurant?
Our set menu always includes vegetarian dishes. If you prefer vegan meals, please inform us when making your inquiry or booking so that we can adjust the menu accordingly.
Is it possible to book with breakfast only?
You are welcome to book with overnight stay and breakfast only.
You can also decide day by day whether to take advantage of the dinner menu, which is available for an additional charge of € 35 per person per day.
Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Pets are welcome at our hotel; however, you must bring all necessary items for their care (bed, blanket, food bowl, pet food). Please register your dog when making your inquiry or booking.
For hygiene reasons, dogs are not allowed in the dining area. Thank you for your understanding.

Is there a breakfast buffet or à-la-carte breakfast?
Breakfast includes a rich Italian and continental buffet. On request, eggs, bacon, omelets, and other freshly prepared items are available. There is also a children’s menu with portions suitable for their age.
Are there child prices / portions?
We offer a special daily children’s menu. Children may also choose from the adult menu or individual dishes, with portions adjusted to their age.
Information on allergies and special diets — what options for intolerances (e.g., lactose-free, gluten-free)?
Our kitchen is always available for guest requests regarding allergies or intolerances. Please inform us in advance so we can prepare the best possible menu.
Restaurant dress code (if relevant)
No tie or long dress is required. Casual clothing is fine. Please avoid wearing swimsuits.
What does the 5-course menu include?
Dinner starts with a salad and appetizer buffet, followed by juice or soup, a first hot dish with two choices, a main course (meat, fish, or vegetarian), dessert, and a cheese buffet.
Is breakfast and dinner possible outdoors?
Breakfast and dinner can be served outdoors depending on weather and temperatures. In summer, meals are usually served outside; in cooler or rainy weather, the dining room is used.
POOL & SPA AREA
What are the opening hours of the pool and sauna?
Our heated infinity pool is open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The sauna is available from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and can be opened earlier in case of bad weather.
Are children allowed to use the pool and sauna?
Children are welcome to use our pool area.
The sauna is accessible from 16 years of age (from 12 years when accompanied by parents).
Is the pool and sauna area also open to external guests?
The pool and sauna area is not open to external guests.
Is there a fitness room?
We do not have a fitness room. Our fitness room is the great outdoors 😉
For example, you can run the trail around Lake Caldaro (approx. 8 km).
Can I request additional services such as massages or spa treatments?
We collaborate with an external massage therapist, Nicole. You can book massages directly with her. Nicole will come to our hotel and perform the massage in your room. She is available at +39 347 0321 203 (also via WhatsApp).
What is the temperature of the pool and the whirlpool?
The pool is heated year-round to 28 °C, the whirlpool is set at 32 °C.
Do you offer yoga classes?
Unfortunately, we do not offer yoga classes.

For the hikes, trekking poles and backpacks can be borrowed free of charge at the hotel. Comfortable hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

Yes, our hotel offers a welcoming atmosphere for couples, families, and solo travelers. In particular, our family aperitif with the Morandell host family creates unforgettable moments.
Can I go hiking on my own?
Absolutely! You will receive hiking maps for Caldaro and Appiano, so you can explore the region independently – from the lakeshore to the vineyards and South Tyrolean hills. Our reception team is always available to provide personalized advice.
